I'm glad they made a new game and didn't just port an old game but it still looks so much like a game from 15 years ago I'm really not even that interested. Could be a good test for a Switch 2 comparison if they have that version waiting to go at launch.

I think I have a fish phobia so.

It's always nice to see Nintendo bring back forgotten franchises but this series is just not for me. I can't really see myself enjoying an game of just exploring underwater and nothing else. I'm sure there's a audience for these type of games though.

I remember Crispin Boyer saying the first game was not a game, back in EGM.

I might pick this up, depending on the atmosphere and visuals. Doesn't really work if it runs poorly and is full of pop-in.

Still thinking twice to consider this game as I already have Go Vacation on Switch & Wii with Scuba Diving activity which basically have similar experience as Endless Ocean.

Absolutely. Day whenever Amazon ships my copy. Love the series and some chilled exploration and such is exactly what I'm in the mood for right now.

I'm 39 years old, will be 40 in October 2024.
I have played Go Vacation Wii version since year 2011 and played again on Switch.
The Scuba Diving activity from Go Vacation was really breath taking.
It was beautiful even with just 4 different ocean to explore.
Since the activity just only explore and looking for sea creatures, i got back up by other activities I can do in Go Vacation so I will not get bored quickly.

I'd never even heard of the original before rumors of the new one started going around and even then it seems like very firmly not my thing, so no.

I want to but I also want to wait on reviews first. I do love underwater stuff though so if it's any good, yeah I'll definitely get it!

Only when I can be sure the singleplayer content is a significant part of the game and not just an afterthought, and I'm not required to play multiplayer for anything. I'm not going to pay that much for another Fashion Dreamer situation (and that game even had free online).

What do you actually do? Vibe around underwater and take photos? That's it?

For 50 bucks, forget it. It's a 20$ indie game at best.

If I wanted to play these more atmospheric, "experience games" - IF - I wouldn't go for something that looks as...rough as this does. Granted, it's not as awful as some other switch exclusives (which STILL boggles my mind, you don't have to optimize for half a dozen systems, it's not like you have to compromise your vision with a little bit of thinking about what is possible on the system. Just look at totk compared to the f***ing games lmao)

But this is year 7(?) of the switch AND a Nintendo property. It definitely feels like they don't really give these late arrivals the same kind of love they did in the past.

I am getting it on cartridge, I had some discounts for the local game store. Which lowers the price to around €30. And that is absolutely a good price for this game.

I'll wait and see a tech analysis of it. I just got a feeling it will not run as well as it does in the trailers.

Waiting on reviews first and checking whether it's really for me. I think it is, but I just want to make certain there's no jarring performance issues, etc. Also, I'm big on gaming at discounts, so I'll probably get it somewhere if I can get a nifty deal.

I was on the fence but thoroughly enjoyed the first and completed it on Wii all those years back. Here's hoping it's good.

I really liked the first two games, but I'll still wait to see how it compares and reviews before deciding on a purchase.

I haven't played the Wii games and I'd quite like to check those out first. If I like them I'll get this eventually, as long as it's not too heavily online-focused.

Day one;. EO2 (NOT you, Entrain Odyssey 2) was definitely one of the best soothing gaming experiences for me.
My hopes are actually low, but I want to support that franchise.

I enjoyed Abzu many years back, Subnautica too so I feel I need to give this a try - not 100% sure what to expect but worth a go

Like some other commenters here, I'll wait for the reviews to tell how well it runs before buying the game. The idea of a relaxing diving game is appealing, but it really needs to have good performance for the immersion to work. Also, I'm not so keen on online multiplayer, which seems to be a big part of this game, so I want to know how substantial the single player experience is before making the decision.

Feels like Subnautica without the thrill...

Pre-order from Smyths seems to be cheapest in UK at the moment for £32.99, so that's where I'm getting mine.

I kinda want it, but there's also so much I need play through right now that it'll fly under the radar.

Still have the first two. They are great games on the wii, had many hours in each. Very excited to see a third entry.

I'm not interested for now but some positive reviews, knowing that the campaign isn't an afterthought, and the game having a stable framerate may sway me to get it on or shortly after its release day.

@AlienigenX I definitely have to agree with you about it being being a perfect game to have digitally. It would honestly be pretty tedious having to put the cartridge in your Switch just to participate in the limited-time event dives.

@AlienigenX I’d recommend not using a voucher for this game. This game’s price is 50$ (or region equivalent) normally, so you wouldn’t be saving money with the vouchers for this one. If you got a 60$ game with it you’d be saving more money, but that’s just my suggestion, you can use your voucher for whatever you want 👍

I adored the first game - it was very special for me. When the new game was announced in that Direct I gasped! Since then, though, I haven't been that impressed with what I've seen? Sorry to be a bit shallow (lol) but the graphics seem like a real let down. All the videos are full of murk, which may be realistic, but I would like to have seen more crystal clear waters. It doesn't seem to have progressed much since last time.

If it was £20 cheaper I'd be considering it more, but at the moment it's not a high priority.

I probably won't buy it right away, but I'm interested and will wait for reviews. I never played the original game.

My daughter is really into Oceanography right now, so will definitely be picking this up for her.

Then develop Luminous for Switch 2 with glorious visuals.

Ultimately, I am glad this exists as I thought the series was "dead in the water".

If the reviews check out, day one-ish me. Just need the frame rate, controls, and music to all check out before I commit.

I absolutely hate that the "budget price" for Nintendo releases is 50 bucks with no sale in sight. I would be more likely to give this a chance at 30 or 20.

@HolyGeez03 Considering how many games they have ported it is surprising they didn't port the first 2 Ocean games before making this. Knowing Nintendo they'll port them later to Switch 2. 😂

Yeah, I'll probably get it on day one since I love the original two, but I honestly wish this was multi-plat or for PC. It looks okay enough on Switch, but a game like this would really shine with nicer hardware behind it.

I haven't played any of these games in the series, but I probably would have if I had of known that it was internally developed at Nintendo. I just found out that it's in GameFly, so I will give it a rent and see if I like it.

but jokes aside, i recently started playing EO2 now that i modded my wiiU (played Eo1 back in '09) just before this was announced and have clocked around 133 hours now...
